RPO in continental Europe has traditionally lagged behind that of the US and UK. However the emergence of RPO is gaining pace across the region as multinational companies look to apply high-end technology across borders.

In a wide-ranging interview with Totalent, Seb O’Connell, Cielo’s President for EMEA and APAC discusses the future role of technology, workforce planning and the importance of D, E & I.

Seb predicts a steady growth of RPO in continental Europe in part due to the internationalisation of business. He argues that multinational companies are increasingly taking a global view on recruitment strategy, meaning that practices that are common in the US and UK are becoming increasingly prevalent elsewhere – especially Southern Europe.

Technology will become an increasing part of recruitment, but as Seb explained, “The challenge is still finding the right talent and then having the right conversations. You have to make sure that when you’re implementing technology and having conversations in the marketplace, you’re doing it in a way that makes people feel valued. I think the big conversation about technology within recruitment is not what you can do, but what you think it should do and how much you want it to do.”
