Last year was transformational for Latin America and organizations in the region, including Cielo. With the formal expansion into Colombia and Brazil, Cielo has doubled its structural footprint in the region, allowing for even higher localized support for these two key countries.

“While 2020 presented unexpected challenges for all organizations, we were able to successfully finish the year with continued growth and outstanding service,” said Christian Scandella, Senior Vice President – Latin America. “Thanks to our industry-leading talent acquisition experts, innovative program design and Cielo’s unique client service culture, we were able to overcome challenges and thrive. We look forward to our continued growth and shared transformation with our partners as we navigate 2021.”

In 2020, Cielo in LATAM welcomed new clients in the technology, oil & gas and medical devices industries. Some multiregional programs also included partners in life sciences and manufacturing. Most programs consisted of multi-country solutions, with higher volumes managed in Mexico, Brazil and Colombia – the largest markets in the region today.

The pandemic forced most organizations to embrace the virtual world, transforming face-to-face processes into digitally supported ones. As a region known for its preference for personal interaction, this was a challenge. But thanks to our dedicated teams who closely partner with each client, Cielo accompanied clients through volume fluctuations and adapted to a 100% digital recruitment process.

In partnership with one of our life sciences clients in Colombia, our teams transformed the internship program’s recruitment process. Instead of a preestablished cadence of personal hiring events, we pivoted to a digital format combining automation and human interaction. This change reduced the time to shortlist from two to three months to three weeks. The technology-based process allowed candidates to move through the hiring cycle in less time through the convenience of their personal devices, enhancing candidate experience.

Additional highlights for Cielo’s team in LATAM include:

  • The fourth anniversary of our Buenos Aires Center of Excellence launch – we now have over 110 team members in Buenos Aires, supporting our clients in LATAM and North America.
  • The formal creation of entities in Colombia and Brazil to support our clients locally.
  • Virtualizing the recruitment process and extending offers to 30 tech support candidates in Mexico in six weeks for one of our technology clients.
  • More than 43% of our employees being promoted or enabled to make career moves.

The outlook for 2021 includes continuing to evolve our programs, accompanying our clients through the changes a technology-based process will bring, with new customizable program possibilities for the region.
