BROOKFIELD, Wis., April 21, 2022 – Cielo, the world’s leading strategic Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) provider, received an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) award after being nominated by Nick Boehm, IT Application Support Manager and active Chief Warrant Officer 2 in the Army Reserve, for the support the organization has given him over the years. After several rounds of review, Cielo was ranked as the #1 large employer in the state of Wisconsin for support of Guard and Reserve members.

“It is an honor to have been recognized as the top employer in Wisconsin for our support of service members,” said Brian Lindstrom, Chief Administrative Officer at Cielo. “A positive relationship between the employer and employee is critical as it is extremely challenging for members of our military to balance their ‘day job’ along with their military role, while also being there for their families. We at Cielo want to do what we can to help with that difficult balance. We are grateful to Nick and all our country’s service members and commit to supporting them and their families in any way we can.”

Nick has served 13 years in the military and is also a certified ACE-SI (Ask Care Escort – Suicide Intervention) training officer, working to assist military personnel in their times of need. Lindstrom and Boehm attended the awards luncheon in Green Lake, WI on April 8 where Cielo was presented with the recognition. The ESGR is a 50-year-old organization designed to create a strong bond between employers and employees as armed forces members in the National Guard and Reserves.

“I did this because of how…Cielo treated me and my family prior to, during, and after my time in Afghanistan”, said Boehm. “I also submitted Cielo because of the support I received through our Protect, Serve & Support Employee Resource Group, to update Cielo’s Paid Time Off policy, the personal donations from CEO Sue Marks to military mental health organizations, as well as the outpouring of support to help my friends in Afghanistan leave their country and get settled in the U.S.”

Supporting our Veterans and military service members is just one of many ways Cielo is working to enhance our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and to be a destination employer where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

About ESGR

Together, We All Serve!

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 3,000 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve.
