PHILADELPHIA (September 24, 2019) – Cielo, the world’s leading strategic Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) provider, won this year’s HRO Today Association Business Partnership Excellence award for its work with Grifols.

Grifols is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people around the world by producing plasma-derived medicines. In 2016, it partnered with Cielo to help centralize its talent acquisition process. Before Cielo, Grifols had its more than 180 plasma donation centers manage their own recruiting. Cielo delivered a new structure that creates a streamlined recruitment process (reducing the number of steps from eight to four), ensuring a consistent experience for both hiring managers and candidates. With this new process, Grifols now can expand its existing centers and add locations through acquisition and organic growth.

“The success of our partnership with Grifols is a great example of how we use technology to improve those critical high-touch elements of the recruiting process instead of just removing them,” said Cassie Pike, Senior Vice President of Client Service for Cielo. “By automating certain administrative tasks, our recruiters can act more as talent advisors, helping to guide talent to the role that best allows them to contribute and find value in their work at Grifols. This helps increase overall engagement by matching new employees with the roles that best fit their skills and interests.”

Grifols has experienced impactful business results from the partnership, including:

  • Decreased time to offer by almost 14 days
  • Increased candidate satisfaction by 37%
  • Lowered time to fill by 35 days
  • Decreased attrition by 11%

“Partnerships are built on mutual trust,” said Mike Bazinet, Director of Talent Acquisition for Biomat USA, a Grifols company. “The relationship that Grifols and Cielo have established since the beginning of our partnership has been the bedrock of our success. With shared accountability, the Grifols and Cielo team operate as one function. Our union has allowed our recruitment efforts to bring value to patients who have life-threatening illnesses and give them the opportunity to live better lives.”

The award was handed out at the HRO Today Association North America conference earlier this month in Philadelphia.
