This week, members of the Cielo team, including yours truly, attended the HCI Strategic Talent Acquisition Conference in Boston, MA. After walking the expo floor it dawned on me as well as my other team members that there were many more recruitment technology vendors compared to years past.
As this trend seems to be growing it begs some questions:
The answer to both is: it depends. According to Cielo’s Talent Acquisition 360 research, “delivering quality hires consistently” is perceived as the most important strategic function of talent acquisition for all stakeholders. Technology alone with a “post and pray” or “set it and forget it” mentality will not get the job done regardless of the tool.

The Cielo Talent Acquisition 360 research reveals that organizations using Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) providers are more than twice as likely to rate their organizations’ talent acquisition performance as effective when compared to non-RPO users.
It has been said many times, but the moral of the story is that recruitment technology is only as good as the recruiter using it.
